Spice Luetters
August 19, 1996 to December 21, 2009
Spice Luetters entered Dog Tired, October 12,
2005, just nine days after we opened. An institution here, he was a friend
to everyone large and small. His entrance every morning eagerly anticipated
by staff and dogs alike. We all waited each night to bring him out to his
mom just to hear those familiar words….’there’s my boy’ as she smiled and
asked how his day was.
An escape artist extraordinaire, Spice had been to many doggie daycares in
Anchorage. Whether it was a fence too short that he could climb over, or
strange noises that drove him to whine and carry on, it was his destiny to
find his daytime home here at Dog Tired.
The last year has been difficult for his health, but he remained in daycare,
ever eager to come visit his pals and share his wisdom. His pace a little
slower, those old legs not working so well anymore, he still wouldn’t miss
an opportunity to go outside for recess and take in the fresh air. His
health declined over the weekend and his mom had to make that difficult
decision every owner is faced with at some point in their life. The staff at
Dog Tired had the opportunity to say goodbye this morning before he crossed
the rainbow bridge, for that we are truly grateful.
Please keep Spice and his family in your thoughts and prayers this holiday
season as they go through this difficult time.
We will miss you old Spice ♥
